Clarence's first continuing role was on "CHiPs." where he played Officer Ben Webster in the last season of the show. Clarence then played as Rolland Culp opposite Jim Carrey on NBC's pilot "The Duck Factory." After hopping from college to college, he finally graduated -- ten years after high school. Clarence recalls one of his high school teachers telling him that he would never graduate from college. This only made him know that he would do it some day.
In 1989, Clarence landed the role as Deputy Police Chief Conrad McMasters on "Matlock." He played this character for four years before moving on to "Walker: Texas Ranger." Clarence spends a great deal of his spare time with his two children, Paul and Rachel. He also has a strong relationship with God, and turns to Him for strength and courage in his day-to-day life.
