An experienced documentary director and post production supervisor turned feature film director, van Heerden was at the helm of the breakthrough hit Revelation in 1998. The supernatural thriller starring Jeff Fahey, Carol Alt, and Nick Mancuso was an instant success both theatrically and on video. Prior to Revelation, van Heerden directed more than half a dozen documentary projects. He also served as post production supervisor on ten projects and several films.
