George Tirl

Tirl studied film, television and theater at the University of Film (Prague) and the Dramatic Institute in (Stockholm) with Sven Nyqvist. During his extensive career, he has photographed over thirty feature films. He was honoured with a major Swedish film award for the script, direction and cinematography of his own feature film entitled The Pistol. His work on the motion picture Metamophosis received critical acclaim worldwide. Based on the well-known novel by Franz Kafka and was nominated for the Best Foreign Picture by the Acedemy. The HBO production of Tracker earned him an Emmy.
